Google may soon allow users to choose their customized email address for as low as $2 per month.
Users signing up for a normal Gmail account get their email address as their preferred name followed by “@gmail.com.” The company has now confirmed that it is testing a plan that will allow users to customize their email address.
GSMArena posted a screenshot of the new offering from a Google Web page. Google later confirmed to CIO.com that it is experimenting on custom email addresses.
“We know that your first choice of username probably wasn’t [email protected], which is why we’re experimenting with scalable ways to provide other options. This is just a test though, and we haven’t made any decisions for the long term,” per a Google statement.
